E3D ToolChanger and Motion System is an advanced search platform that allows up to four multi-material/multi-function tools (such as lasers, pick & place tools, extruders, inspection cameras, and anything else you can imagine) to be used during a single print job. You can choose between a 4 x Bowden V6 tool package or a 4 x Direct Hemera tool package. Extruders and PTFE tubes are included in this package along with the motion system, tool changing mechanism, and Duet connectivity of your choice.
Duet control options
- WiFi: connect remotely to your ToolChanger via computer, laptop or tablet.
- Ethernet: is your machine in a garage or shed with an unstable WiFi signal? Ensure a reliable connection by connecting your computer or laptop to ToolChanger.
Printhead
- Hemera XS: Harness the full power of Hemera with direct-drive toolheads, which provide first-class filament control with short filament paths and uncompromising grip. Perfect for challenging materials such as TPE and TPU
Motion System
- A Fabtotum-inspired CoreXY Motion system provides a fast, precise and robust platform. With no flying motors, no crossed belt paths, and an incredibly light moving mass.
- The Motion System is built for high speeds and rapid acceleration. Gates original Moon motors and 2GT belts produce fast, reliable and long-lasting performance.
- To ensure the high accuracy of the Motion System, the three main axes are pre-assembled, allowing a simple assembly experience without additional tensioning.
ToolHead
The ToolChanger ToolHead is the central mechanical component of the tool changing system. Bolted directly onto the Motion System's X-Carriage, it provides the pickup and delivery action that allows the use of several ToolHeads using the standardized E3D toolholder plate.
Electronics
The Duet2 wiring kit provides a well-managed plug & play solution for running Motion System, ToolChanger ToolHead and up to four V6 tools Bowden HotEnd. Although designed for Duet2's WiFi/Ethernet, it should be generally applicable to any microcontroller capable of controlling four tools.
Note that:
The 400W ToolChanger power supply is not suitable for use with the E3D Varipower platter, if you plan to use aVaripower platter you will need to obtain a power supply with higher wattage.
