Protopasta Carbon Fiber PLA is based on high quality, easy-to-print PLA. Made from the highest quality dry ingredients and carefully extruded into the Washington facility on purpose-built extrusion systems. CFPLA prints are demonstrably stiffer with easy processing (often using standard PLA settings) and substrate removal. Excellent layer adhesion and minimal warpage, even without a heated bed, make it an excellent everyday filament for precise parts. Layer lines disappear with the beautiful matte black finish. It also has a slight sheen due to the embedded carbon that makes it very photogenic!
This filament is slightly more abrasive than standard PLA. You'll need to replace your nozzle and do the first layer adjustment after extended use, or switch to a wear-resistant nozzle for less maintenance.
Usable with most PLA-compatible printers, such as Lulzbot, Makerbot, FlashForge, Dremel, Ultimaker, Printrbot and others!
CFPLA is slightly more fragile than standard PLA and requires more care in handling.
Handling is comparable to standard PLA. A heated platen is not required. The result may be less efficient with smaller nozzles and/or systems bowden,
Printing recommendations: nozzle 0.6 mm and temperature 210°C - 230°C
