High precision Z-axis printing

The use of the Smooth PEI Plate helps improve Z-axis accuracy during the printing process, providing greater accuracy and consistency in vertical dimension. These features make the Smooth PEI Plate an excellent choice for printing components that require a high level of precision, where correct alignment and tight tolerances are critical.

Smooth and matte surface finish

The use of a specially selected matte PEI sheet imparts a smooth, matte texture to the bottom surface of the printed object, enhancing its overall appearance.

Compatibility with various filaments

PEI allows printing not only with common materials such as PLA, TPU, PETG, but also with materials that require high temperatures such as ABS and Nylon.

Note: For filaments other than PLA, apply glue to prevent sheet tearing.

Reliable magnetic adhesion to prevent deformation

The Bambu Smooth PEI Plate features a 0.5mm thick harmonic steel plate, which improves magnetic adhesion. This helps prevent warping and ensure optimal print quality. It is especially useful when printing large models with materials prone to deformation such as ABS, PC and Nylon.

Note: Smooth PEI sheet cannot be peeled off the printing plates.

Considerations

• Note that with the Smooth PEI Plate on the A1 printer there is an increased risk of the plate curling up at the corners or the printed patterns coming off the plate. This is due to the increased thickness of PEI applied to the plate, which increases the distance to the plate magnets and reduces magnetic attraction.
• If bubbles appear on the bottom of the sheet, heating it on the heated platen at not less than 80°C for several hours can help eliminate them.
• Deposits of dust and grease on the plate reduce adhesion. It is recommended to clean the surface regularly with detergent and water to maintain the best adhesion performance.
• Do not clean the Smooth PEI Plate with acetone, as it will damage the PEI surface.
• Always wait a few minutes before removing printed patterns to allow the plate to cool down-this facilitates removal and prevents damage to the plate, ensuring its long life.
• Gently sanding the surface with fine-grit sandpaper (600 recommended) can help restore adhesion.
• The Smooth PEI Plate is considered a consumable component, subject to degradation over time. The warranty covers only manufacturing defects and not cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents or cracks. Only defective sheets received upon arrival are covered by the warranty.

Note that some slicer settings may need to be adjusted according to the printed model and filament requirements.
