BIGTREETECH EBB36 / EBB42 CAN is an adapter board for hotend designed specifically for extruders with a stepper NEMA 14 (36 mm) or NEMA 17 (42 mm) motor.
The board supports communication via USB or CAN Bus, greatly simplifying 3D printer wiring and reducing the number of cables between toolhead and motherboard.
GEN2 Key Features
- Integrated BOOT and RESET buttons for firmware update in DFU mode via USB
- Additional protection circuit on the thermistor to prevent damage to the main chip caused by leakage currents from the heating cartridge
- Selection of thermistor pull-up resistor value via jumper, with support for PT1000 (2.2K resistor) - ideal for DIY applications
- USB power supply option via jumper, effectively isolating motherboard DC-DC from 5V USB
- Reserved I2C interface for detection: filament breakage, nozzle clogging, other custom DIY functions
- Anti-flyback diodes on: heater cartridge output, fan ports → MOSFET protection from reverse overvoltage
- Reverse polarity protection on power supply to prevent damage in case of incorrect connection
- Built-in MAX31865 chip with support for 2- or 4-wire PT100 / PT1000 sensors
- CAN or USB communication support
- 120Ω CAN terminal resistance selectable via jumper
