- DescriptionPackage contains: 1 x AQUATEK X1 ADVANCED USM UNIVERSAL SUPPORT MATERIAL - Natural / 1.75mm / 500g - 3DXTech
The AquaTek? X1 Advanced USM is a completely new and highly advanced water soluble universal support material formulated specifically for printing complicated parts. AquaTek? X1 Advanced USM dissolves easily in hot water and has excellent adhesion to the widest range of materials, including popular advanced composites such as CarbonX? and FibreX? carbon fiber nylons.
Advantages of AquaTek? X1 Advanced USM:
Easily soluble in hot water
Environmentally friendly and safe to dispose of in home or office drains
Ideal support material for the widest range of materials, including many that are known to be difficult to support!
Low moisture absorption when exposed to air during printing, becoming less sticky over time than similar backing materials
Compatible materials:
AquaTek? X1 Advanced USM is truly the most compatible backing material, working excellently with all of the following and more: PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, nylon and flexible filaments such as TPC, TPU and COPE.
This includes all the popular composite variants of these grades, such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, and ESD-safe.
Recommended backing removal techniques:
Break up easily accessible excess backing material. This reduces dissolution time (more backing material = longer time to dissolve).
Soak the part in hot water. Hot tap water is typically 38-49°C, which is more than adequate to dissolve AquaTek? X1 Advanced USM. Please be safe with hot water!
Stirring and agitating the water further reduces the dissolution time, either with mechanical agitation or a sonic cleaning bath system. Reheat or replace the hot water as it cools until you still see undissolved support material.
The residue is environmentally safe and can be disposed of down a household or office drain. Rinse thoroughly with cool, lukewarm water.
Filament specifications:
Diameter: 1.75 mm (+/- 0.05 mm)
Recommended print settings:
Extruder: 245-265°C
Platen temperature: 60-90°C
Platen preparation: adhesive or poly tape is recommended
Heated chamber: not necessary, but often useful. Enclosure temperature should not exceed 120°C for X1 USM
Other: AquaTek? Advanced X1 Advanced USM absorbs moisture from ambient humidity, so best practice is to store the filament in a sealed container while not in use.
Drying instructions: 65°C for 2-4 hours - Read moreFor more information please contact us.
The item you will receive may differ in some features from the one represented in the photo, depending on the production batch. Despite this, the functionality is maintained. - Questions(FAQs)
