The SuperVolcano's block is designed to meet the needs of high-speed printing, providing up to 11 times the volumetric capacity of the V6 HotEnd. The SuperVolcano is a full-fledged member of the E3D ecosystem and can be used as a terminal for: V6, Hemera, Kraken, and Lite6.
The SuperVolcano is a copper block that ensures safe operation with its 80W cartridge. Made from a special high-temperature copper alloy with a softening point well above 500°C and very high thermal conductivity, these copper blocks are perfect for high-temperature applications but also work perfectly with everyday filaments.
In addition to high-temperature performance, these blocks have advanced nickel-based plating that greatly reduces plastic adhesion to the block. This is especially important at temperatures above 300°C where a silicone sleeve cannot be used.
To aid the thermal performance of the SuperVolcano a piece of high temperature fiberglass sleeving replaces the regular braid. This sleeve can withstand continuous operating temperatures of 260°C. Sleeves can be used for higher temperatures, however, the life of the socks will be significantly reduced.
