AllPHA
AllPHA is a 100% bio-based material that is 100% biodegradable in any biotope, leaving no microplastics behind.
AllPHA (pronounced Alpha) 3D printing filament represents the ultimate bioplastic. PolyhydroxyAlkanoates, abbreviated as PHA, are created through a natural process called fermentation. By feeding bacteria with natural sugars and oils, they produce "fat reserves" (the PHA). The best thing about PHA? At the end of the product's life cycle, microorganisms can feed on it again.
The allPHA material really degrades in any biotope, leaving no microplastics behind. The rate of decomposition depends on the thickness of the molded part and the environmental factors of the compost, such as heat, moisture and microbial activity. This makes it very different from PLA, which is biodegradable only in industrial composting environments.
allPHA exhibits exceptional interlayer adhesion under most printing conditions. The material is durable, reliable and stable at very high temperatures (>120°C). Unlike other filaments, allPHA must be printed on a cold platen, with 100% cooling by fan. An added benefit of using an unheated platen is that it is much more economical and sustainable to print, as it saves a significant amount of energy.
allPHA is an excellent material for any project that requires a more sustainable approach. With several end-of-life options and a natural ability to "return to nature," allPHA is a truly circular material.
This filament is supplied on a recycled cardboard spool to further reduce the use of single-use plastics.
