This module allows you to detect when sound has exceeded a selected set point. The sound is detected via an electret condenser microphone and fed into an LM393 operational amplifier. The sound level setpoint is adjusted via an on-board potentiometer in a more sensitive clockwise direction and a less sensitive counterclockwise direction. When the sound level exceeds the set point, an LED on the module illuminates and the output is sent low. Since this device measures whether or not the sound has exceeded a threshold, you're basically left to decide what you want to do - you can do something when it's quiet and/or you can do something when it's loud.
