- Description
varioShore TPU Prosthetic
This version of varioShore TPU is particularly suitable for printing prosthetics and orthotics. Silver, known for its beneficial properties in prosthetic and orthopedic applications, has been added to the formulation.
In addition to the addition of silver, this version of varioShore is available in three skin tones: Pale Pink, Medium Brown and Dark Brown. Printing at lower temperatures produces more intense skin colors, while printing at higher temperatures (activating the blowing agent) generates lighter, dustier colors that are less intense and have a softer appearance.
varioShore TPU Prosthetic has a few key distinguishing features: variable Shore hardness, reduced weight and density, and soft feel. varioShore TPU Prosthetic allows the density of the material to be varied by adjusting the temperature and material flow (speed and layer height). At temperatures between 200 and 250°C, the material begins to expand to about 1.4-1.6 times its original volume, reducing the density to 0.7-0.9 g/cm³. This allows the material to be molded at low flows (60-70%) to compensate for active expansion, resulting in very soft molded parts.
Developed in collaboration with Lubrizol, varioShore TPU Prosthetic is an ideal material for printing prosthetics and orthotics.
Note that the color may vary depending on the amount of expansion. The color becomes lighter when the material is at maximum expansion, compared to the non-expanded state, which shows deeper and more intense shades.
Shore hardness ranges from 92A (non-expanded) to 55A (maximum expansion).
Pro- Silver is known for its beneficial properties in prosthetics and orthotics.
- Available in skin tones
- Soft touch surface when expanded
- Low density when expanded: 0.5-0.6 g/cm³
Cons
- Stringing/oozing due to expansion effect
- Requires knowledge of the printing process to optimize settings
Specifications
- Material: ColorFabb varioShore TPU Prosthetic
- Diameter tolerance: ± 0.1 mm
- Density: 1.2-1.3 g/cm³
- Glass transition temperature (Tg): -20°C
- Recommended printing temperature: 190-250°C
- Recommended printing speed: 20-30 mm/s
- Recommended heated surface: 20-40°C
- Cooling fan: Use the minimum amount of cooling when maximum expansion is required. For best performance in overhangs, use 50-100% cooling.
- Make sure the distance between the nozzle and the platform is not too small, especially if the material is expanded during printing: pressure will need to be released fromhot-end to prevent clogging and feeding problems.
Package contains: 1 x VARIOSHORE TPU PROSTHETIC MEDIUM BROWN 1.75mm - ColorFabb

- Questions(FAQs)
