Matt PLA is an aesthetic grade PLA 3D printing filament designed to print parts with fine details and a rough, matt surface finish. Matt PLA (polylactic acid) is a 3D printing filament that contains more than 50 per cent recycled material. This has led to filaments with unique and more subdued colour variations. Matt PLA offers excellent 3D printing properties, combining fine details with a matt surface finish.
Key Features
- Contains over 50% recycled material
- Good surface quality
- Rough, matt finish with precise details
- Easy to print at high speeds
- warping -free printing with improved fluidity
- Excellent adhesion of the first layer on different print surfaces (heated and unheated)
- Compatible with AquaSolve PVA for complex multi-extrusion 3D printing
- Wide variety of opaque colours
Applications
- Domestic tools
- Architectural models
- Complex educational projects and models
- Conceptual models
- Production and visualisation aids
- Abrasive
Matt PLA is modified with fillers that can have an abrasive effect on brass nozzles. We recommend the use of hardened steel nozzles when printing with Matt PLA.
Over 50% recycled content
FormFutura's Matt PLA filament contains more than 50% recycled post-industrial PLA from the waste generated during the extrusion of EasyFil PLA filaments. Due to the high recycled content, the filament is not made from virgin PLA, but from a homogenous compound obtained from a wide range of colours of the collected extrusion waste.
Colour variations between different batches of the homogenous compound can result in slightly lighter or darker filaments. On average, two or three batches per year are produced.
Matt PLA Stealth White and Stealth Black filaments will always have the same colour, as white and black PLA waste are collected separately.
General printing guidelines *
|
Nozzle diameter: ≥ 0.15 mm
|
Height layer: ≥ 0.10 mm |
Experience level: Beginner |
| Print temperature: ± 215 - 230 °C |
Fan speed: 50-100%. |
|
|
Heated plate: ± 50 - 60 °C
|
Print area closure: not required |
|
*) The above settings are intended as guidelines for finding optimal printing parameters. These ranges should work with most printers, but feel free to experiment outside these values if you feel it is suitable for your printer. There are many different types of printers, hot-end and offset, so it is extremely difficult to provide a universal setting that applies to all.
