Pa blue metal detectable
To support the food industry with the best possible 3D printing filament, a blue metal-detectable polyamide was developed.
Visual contrast is critical. Blue was chosen as a common color for plastics in the food industry because it offers high visual contrast to most food products. This makes it easier for operators and vision systems to detect any plastic fragments that might accidentally contaminate the product during processing.
In addition, the filament is detectable from metals to minimize the risk of product contamination. Any plastic fragments that might accidentally contaminate food during processing can be detected downstream using metal detectors.
Disclaimer: It should be noted that metal particles embedded in the product are designed to be detected by specialized metal detection equipment used in the food industry. Standard household magnets or basic metal detectors may not reliably detect these particles. These materials are optimized for advanced metal detection systems, such as electromagnetic induction and X-ray inspection. For accurate detection, we recommend the use of appropriate equipment designed for the food processing environment.
Food safety compliance
The composite raw material has been approved for food contact according to: Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 on specific measures for groups of materials-in this case, plastics-in the form of Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011.In addition, the product complies with Regulation (EC) No. 2023/2006 (Articles 5, 6 and 7). The components and monomers of the product are listed in Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 as amended.
The suitability of the finished article for its intended use (contact with food) must be verified by the manufacturer or seller of the 3D printed parts.
The use of blue color and metal detectability in 3D printing filaments intended for the food industry is a proactive approach to prevent, detect and reduce possible product contamination. These features help maintain high food safety standards, protect consumer health, and ensure the integrity of food production processes.

- For heated glass printing surfaces, we recommend the use of 3DLac for better adhesion.
- Printing surface:
- 0% cooling is recommended for best adhesion between layers. If a geometry requires cooling, a maximum of 50% of standard fan speed is recommended.
- It is recommended to keep the spool as dry as possible during and after use. The material can be dried at 100-110°C for 3-6 hours. We take care of packaging the spools, after production, in resealable aluminum vacuum bags.
