- DescriptionPackage Contains: 1 x ESD-FLEX [TPU] 3D FILAMENT - Black / 1.75mm / 750g - 3DXTech
ESD-Flex TPU [thermoplastic polyurethane] is an engineering grade thermoplastic chosen for its balance of excellent flexibility, ease of printing, chemical resistance and toughness. ESD Flex filament is formulated to offer ESD-Safe electrical conductivity with a target surface resistance of 10^7 to 10^9 Ohms.
Advantages of flexible TPU include:
High elongation, over 300%
Semi-flexible Shore 95° hardness
Ease of printing compared to similar flexible materials
Excellent layer bonding
Exceptional fatigue resistance
Very low odor during printing
Low moisture absorption
Retains flexibility even at low temperatures
Styrene and BPA free
ESD-Flex TPU Benefits Include:
Constant surface resistivity
Improved impact retention and elongation
Low particulate contamination
Minimal contribution to outgassing and ionic contamination
Typical ESD Flex applications include:
Semi-con: HDD components, wafer management, masks, enclosures and connectors
Industrial: transportation, measurement and sensing applications
Target conductivity for ESD Flex:
Surface resistivity of 10^7 to 10^9 ohms on 3DP sample using concentric ring test method.
Note: Internal studies have indicated that increasing extruder temperatures can achieve higher levels of conductivity. Similarly, lower extruder temperatures have resulted in lower levels of conductivity. Every printer is configured differently, not to mention different part geometry. Therefore, expect some trial and error time to understand how the ESD Flex filament works in your specific printer and application.
Surface conductivity as a function of extruder temperature:
The surface resistance of the printed ESD Flex part varies with the temperature of the printer's extruder. For example, if the test indicates that the part is too insulating, increasing the extruder temperature will result in better conductivity. Therefore, surface resistance can be "made up" by adjusting the extruder temperature up or down depending on the reading you receive from your side.
Filament specifications:
Diameter: 1.75 mm (+/- 0.05 mm)
Recommended Flex ESD print settings:
Extruder: 220-240°C
Platen temperature: 40-60°C
Platen preparation: lacquer or adhesive is recommended
Heated chamber: not required
Supports: the universal support material AquaTek? X1 USM water-soluble universal backing material is ideal for complex parts
Drying instructions: 65°C for 4 hours. - Read moreFor more information please contact us.
The item you will receive may differ in some features from the one represented in the photo, depending on the production batch. Despite this, the functionality is maintained. - Questions(FAQs)
