- DescriptionAtlas Support is a water-soluble PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) support material designed for complex multi-extrusion printing. It has been developed for use in combination with PETG-based materials. Atlas Support is a 3D printer filament with high thermal stability and can be printed at slightly higher temperatures than conventional PVA.
Key features
- Excellent solubility in water (even cold)
- Higher thermal stability, with less risk of deterioration or crystallisation inside the nozzle
- Maximum thermal stability of 225 °C, tested up to 256 seconds without flow
- Biodegradable once dissolved in water
- Safe dissolution in tap water
- Can be disposed of in the kitchen sink or household drain with plenty of water
- Good adhesion to PETG-based materials and other (thermo)plastics that print in the same temperature range
- Less sensitive to moisture than conventional PVA
Applications
- Reliable multi-extrusion 3D printing of complex structures requiring water-soluble substrates
- 3D printing of geometries with large overhangs or complex hollow structures
- PVA moulds
General printing guidelines *
Nozzle size: ≥ 0.15 mm Height layer: ≥ 0.1 mm Experience level: Expert Print temperature: ± 180 - 210°C * Fan speed: 0 - 30% Heated plate: ± 0 - 60°C Closed chamber: Not required * The above settings are guidelines for finding optimal print settings. These ranges should work with most printers, but you can experiment outside these values if considered suitable for your printer. There are many different types of printers, hot-end and offset, so it is difficult to provide universal settings that apply to all.* Do not exceed a printing temperature of 225 °C, as the PVA AquaSolve may crystallise too quickly and no longer flow properly and/or dissolve in water.Printing with PVA materials requires some experience in 3D printing, as the PVA should not remain in the hot secondary nozzle (holder) for too long. It is necessary that the material flows correctly and that the 'waiting temperature' is precisely set to avoid deterioration or crystallisation in the nozzle when it is not being extruded.Filament length
