ApolloX CF10 is a modified ASA-based 3D printing filament, reinforced with 10% carbon fibre, designed to offer improved mechanical properties. It is suitable for printing mechanical parts and outdoor applications, ensuring high precision and no warping (deformation) during printing.
ApolloX CF10 combines all the advantages of ApolloX filament with 10% carbon fibre. ApolloX CF10 is a high performance carbon fibre reinforced ASA filament.
The use of high modulus carbon fibres makes ApolloX CF10 very light and stiff. This technical filament is also easy to print on open-frame desktop printers. No enclosure or heated chamber is required.
The low material shrinkage and perfect adhesion between layers make ApolloX CF10 extremely easy to print.
Key Features
- UV and weather resistant
- Rigid, with high modulus of elasticity and good impact resistance
- Heat resistance up to 101°C
- High dimensional stability
- Easy to print on open-frame desktop 3D printers
Recommended applications
- Aerospace and automotive industries
- 3D printed cases and covers
- Rigid components for outdoor use
- Civil engineering applications
- Production of functional end products
- Explanation of carbon fibre reinforcement
Reinforcing filaments with carbon fibre offers numerous advantages by combining the unique properties of both materials.
The properties of the thermoplastic are enhanced by the characteristics of the carbon fibre, which brings benefits such as:
- Increased rigidity
- Weight reduction
- Increased tensile strength
- Increased dimensional stability
- Reduction in shrinkage and warping
- Increased heat resistance
- Increased chemical resistance
- Opaque surface that reduces the visibility of layer
For this reason, carbon-fibre reinforced filaments are ideal for applications requiring rigid and lightweight components.
General printing guidelines*
| Nozzle diameter: ≥ 0.4 mm |
Height layer: ≥ 0.15 mm |
Enclosure: recommended |
| Print temperature: approx. 240 - 265°C |
Fan: 0% - 50% |
Heated plate: approx. 90 - 110°C |
*The settings indicated are guidelines for finding optimal printing parameters. They may work for most printers, but you may need to experiment with different settings depending on your printer, hotend and calibrations.
*With high-speed printing, the indicated parameters may require further adjustments.
Abrasiveness
Carbon fibre reinforced filaments contain a significant amount of extremely hard fibres, which are abrasive in nature.
This means that brass nozzles wear out much faster than when used with non-reinforced filaments.
We therefore recommend the use of hardened steel nozzles or ruby-tipped nozzles.
Storage and Handling
The filament should be stored at room temperature, in a dry and dark place, with a humidity of less than 15%.
Recommended storage temperature: approx. 18-25 °C
Protect from moisture, sunlight and direct heat sources
If stored correctly, the product has a shelf life of approximately 24 months.
For best printing performance, we recommend drying the material before use and printing directly from a dry box.
