PET Carbon Fibre filament from AzureFilm is a carbon fiber reinforced PET filament (PET-CF).
It is an easy-to-print 3D printer filament. Due to the carbon fiber reinforced structure, this material has high impact resistance and excellent mechanical properties without distortion.
Fiber-reinforced materials (FRPs) offer outstanding mechanical properties. In addition to typical composite driving factors such as fiber volume and fiber orientation, studies have found that printing parameters such as nozzle type and speed, fill density, layer thickness, bed temperatures, and fill pattern can influence mechanical properties.
PET-CF from Azurefilm, in addition to having excellent mechanical properties without deformation, has high strength of overlapping layers along Z, temperature resistance up to 125°C, and low water absorption.
In fact, the material can withstand temperatures up to 125°C for a short period (max. 3 hours) and can easily withstand temperatures over 100°C for more than 10 hours.
What are the main aspects of PET Carbon Fibre 3D printing filament Azurefilm?
PET Carbon Fibre filament from Azurefilm is characterized by several aspects:
Easy to print
High strength of overlapping layers along Z
Excellent mechanical properties
High impact resistance
Economical: carbon fibers are shredded, so there is a significant reduction in production length
Resistance to high temperatures up to 125°C
Increased dimensional stability: chopped carbon fibers are extremely strong and not only impart high strength and stiffness, but also help prevent shrinkage when the part is being cooled
Requirements for printing PET CF filaments. Azurefilm
The thickness of the carbon fibers within the filament ranges from 0.4mm to 0.6mm, so the nozzle diameter must be 0.6mm
Heated print bed to keep the 3D model adhered to the plane
Hardened nozzle: fiber-reinforced filament is abrasive, so a standard brass nozzle will wear out in a short period of time.
Filament dryer: it is recommended to keep the filament in dry box at a controlled and constant temperature to store it in a dry place. This allows for better results in printed objects.
Closed printing chamber: it is recommended to use a printer with a closed chamber to ensure a controlled environment.
Package contains: 1 x PET Carbon Fibre filament spool 1kg 1.75mm for 3D printing Azurefilm
We recommend the following print settings for printing PET Carbon Fibre 3D printing filament from Azurefilm:
Nozzle temperature: 245 - 270°C
Heated bed: recommended 80-90°C
Printing speed: 40-60 mm/s
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Nozzle diameter: 0.6mm
Printing surface: blue tape, Kapton tape, glass surface with adhesives Dimafix or Magigoo
Note: The settings shown above serve as a guide to find the optimal print settings. These ranges in the settings should work for most printers, but feel free to experiment outside these parameters if you feel it is suitable for your printer. There are so many different types of printers, hot-end and offset printers that it is extremely difficult to provide a general setting that suits everyone.
