Casting sheets in alloy 5083, ground on both sides, are processed and delivered with a protective film on both sides. In addition, where present, any burrs along the edges are removed for the user's safety.

Ideal for the manufacture of precision mechanical components, especially printing plates for 3D FDM machines that are accurate at any operating temperature.

Being casting plates are not affected by the rolling process that can create internal stresses in the material, this ensures dimensional stability during and after machining.
The grinding process guarantees a surface roughness of 70µm with minimum flatness tolerances (less than 0.40mm/m) and decimal thickness tolerances (+/- 0.1mm).

These plates can be welded by TIG/MIG welding and are also suitable to be anodized.

The particular technological characteristics of these EN AW 5083 plates make them similar to aeronautical/aerospace aluminum: Mic6.
They are therefore ideal for use in the construction of precision mechanical parts where high shape stability is required even at high temperatures (150°C).
That's why we use and recommend them also for the construction of printing plans for 3D FDM printers, where the need for constant heating would alter the shape and flatness of the working surface using other types of materials.

Packaging involves wrapping each individual sheet machined to size on both sides to prevent scratches from rubbing during transport. For compact sizes an external cardboard packaging is used, while for large sizes a pallet or mini pallet is included to ensure flatness even during long transports.
