PMMA 3D printing filament is a polymethacrylate wire (what is commonly called Plexiglas). It is a transparent shockproof material that combines good mechanical resistance (higher than ABS) with considerable resistance to UV rays and chemical agents. On the other hand, however, it has a considerable hygroscopicity and therefore is rather sensitive to humidity.
It can be an alternative to polycarbonate (PC filament), because it is easier to print, even if less resistant.
